are we vexed from day to day?

this world is a sinking ship of God's wrath. are we lovers of this world? if so, then we are sinking with the ship.
(for that righteous man [lot], living among them [the wicked in sodom and gomorrha] day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— 2 peter 2:8 [NIV]

understanding Jesus

nobody will understand the words of Jesus--He is an enigma to them--except the Father draws them.

the great atheist myth

atheists say to Christians, "why do you act like you're a persecuted minority?"

atheists only comprise some 0.5% of the population.

so that means everyone else in the world worships God, right?

wrong.

  • a majority of "Christians-so-called" are DEAD or asleep;
  • Jews worship a false God because they don't accept the Son; and
  • muslims worship a false God because they don't accept Jesus as the only-begotten Son of God.

islamophobia

i attended a conference on islamophobia hosted by the canadian islamic congress tonight.

it was mostly about how muslims need to twist their kids' arms to go into journalism, about bickering with maclean's magazine, and about what a great job islam would do funding a "neutral and non-biased" newspaper for canada. they had two communist white boys speak, surely with the intention of pleasing caucasians in the audience (but why did i feel like throwing up?), and they took lots of photos... so if you see me in the newspaper, don't worry, it doesn't mean i'm going muslim on you.

my comment was: "islamophobia would be much better reduced if canadian muslims held public conferences denouncing extremist activities rather than holding public conferences about how they need to get their kids into journalism. my perception is that 'moderate' muslims are indifferent to terrorism... so somebody needs to educate me by actively demonstrating that this is not so."

on a different note: all they had to say about the 9/11 attacks was about the 2 or 3 arabs and sikhs who were murdered the next day--islamophobia, the greatest problem facing society today.

not a sinner

a sinner:
romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. [KJV]
a sinner:
isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
a sinner:
1 john 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
we cannot begin to comprehend God's grace and we cannot begin to love much, unless we can see our sin.

health and wealth -- "American dream"

From James 1:9-11 [MSG]:
Prosperity is as short-lived as a wildflower, so don't ever count on it. You know that as soon as the sun rises, pouring down its scorching heat, the flower withers. Its petals wilt and, before you know it, that beautiful face is a barren stem. Well, that's a picture of the "prosperous life." At the very moment everyone is looking on in admiration, it fades away to nothing.

what Christianity is about

it's not about what organization you're a part of. it's not about conventions or tents. it's about God. take your pick.
